Losing the Race

Tom watched the horses gallop fast. His carriage flew over the ground. “ My spell is working! ” cried Tom.

But Walter’s swans were as fast as the horses. They bumped into Tom’s carriage. Thump! Tom’s carriage slowed down.

“ Oh no! ” Tom cried. “ Those swans knocked a wing off our carriage! ”

Walter and his king laughed as they flew by. “ Cheaters! ” Tom’s king called. Tom’s king was very upset. “ Hurry, Tom! Fix our carriage! ”

Tom waved his wand again and again. At last a huge wing appeared on the wheel. The other wing grew huge too.
