Tom gave the new nightcap to the royal grandmother. “ What took you so long?” she snapped. She put the nightcap on her head. “ Now I wish for a guard! ” she said.

Poof! A guard dog appeared. It had three heads. They all growled at Tom.

The royal grandmother looked at Tom. “ Your magic is getting better, Wizard! ” Tom shook his head. “ I didn’t do anything. ”

“ Tom, ” Cat whispered. “ I think the nightcap is a wishing cap. ” Tom gasped. “ A wishing cap?”

“ A wishing cap?” said the royal grandmother. “ Hmm. I wish this dog was a tiger. ” Poof! The dog turned into a tiger.
