The king’s mother came for a visit. “ Dirk! ” said the king. “ Make sure the royal grandmother is happy. ” “ Of course, ” said Dirk.

But the royal grandmother was never happy. “ My throne is too small! ” she said. “ I need a guard for my room. Where is my feast?”

“ Dirk! ” yelled the king. “ Do something! ” Dirk ran to Tom’s room. He pounded on the door. “ Wizard! ”

“ Uh-oh, ” thought Tom. “ Help the royal grandmother, ” Dirk ordered. “ Make sure she is happy! ”

Tom ran to find the royal grandmother. Dirk grinned. “ No one can make the royal grandmother happy. Soon the king will throw Tom in the Grim Dungeon! ”
