The king called Tom to the Throne Room. “ Princess Mary has disappeared! ” the king cried. “ I’ll find the princess! ” Tom said. He waved his wand. Poof!

There was a puff of smoke. But nothing else happened. “ Oops, ” Tom said.

“ Wait . . . ” Cat sniffed the smoke. “ It smells like trees and moss, ” she said. “ It smells like the Dark Forest! ”

Tom gasped and looked at the king. “ Princess Mary is in the Dark Forest! ” Tom said.

“ What?” The king turned pale. “ The Dark Forest is dangerous! ” he cried. “ We must find the princess at once! ”
