The Jester's Secret

Tom and Cat were walking in the rain. The new jester was at the blacksmith shop. “ Why isn’t the jester practicing?” asked Tom. “ The Grand Banquet is tomorrow! ”

“ Maybe he needs tin plates to juggle, ” Cat said. “ True, ” Tom said. “ He can’t break more of the queen’s dishes! ” But the jester did not buy tin plates.

The jester was just taking a walk. Suddenly he stopped near the castle wall. He looked closely at a crack. “ That’s strange, ” Cat said.

“ The jester looks worried, ” Tom said. “ Maybe I can help. ” “ You have a kind heart, ” Cat said. “ Jester! ” Tom called.

The jester jumped. He looked ready to run away. “ Stop! I want to help, ” Tom said.
