Ann led Tom to his lab. She showed him a tiny door. “ The last wizard kept things in this secret room. ”

Ann looked around the secret room. “ We need a potion to—” Just then there was a soft meow. “ Cat?” Tom said in surprise.

“ I found the secret door too, ” Cat said to Tom. “ And look—I already found a potion! ”

Tom told Ann what Cat said. “ Let’s mix the potion, ” Ann said. “ Huh?” Tom looked at her.

“ I love my father, ” Ann said. “ But you have a kind heart, Tom. Father treats you and Cat unfairly. ”
