A Fair Joust

Tom was at the Royal Fair. “ It’s almost time for the joust, Cat, ” he whispered.

The bad knight rode over to Tom. “ I’m glad I won that free magic spell, ” he said. “ The prize money will be mine! ”

The joust began. Horses charged and lances clashed. Soon it was the bad knight’s turn. He rode toward another knight.

Tom watched from his seat. Suddenly the bad knight’s horse swayed back and forth. “ Uh-oh, ” cried Princess Mary. The bad knight dropped his lance!

The other knight’s lance struck the bad knight. Oof! The bad knight crashed to the ground. The other knight won the joust!
