A Midnight Meeting

“ Good-bye, Wizard, ” the knight said. Tom slammed the door shut after him. He did not want to help that bad knight.

Cat was licking her paws. “ What should I do, Cat?” Tom asked. “ I’ll talk to the horse, ” she said.

That night Tom went to the jousting field. The knight rode in on his horse.

“ Whoa! ” cried the knight. The horse threw him off her back!

“ This is a terrible horse! ” the knight said. He looked furious. “ She never obeys me. ” “ Are you ready for the spell?” Tom asked.
