Splash! The crocodile dropped into the water. Tom watched it swim away with the crown. “ Ha-ha! ” Dirk laughed softly. “ You're going to get thrown in the Grim Dungeon! ”

“ Oh no! ” Tom thought. “ Not the Grim Dungeon! ” The princess was still wailing. “ My crown! ” “ Psst! Tom! ” whispered a voice. “ Over here! ”

Tom looked around. Cat was hiding near the palace! She waved to Tom. “ Come here. ”

“ Now, now. ” Dirk patted the princess’ shoulder. “ We can get you a new royal crown. ” The princess sobbed. “ But that one is very special. ”
