Cat ran across the Throne Room. “ A cat! ” shrieked the queen. She was still sneezing. “ Ah-choo! ” “ Oops, ” Tom whispered.

Dirk stepped closer to Tom. He laughed in Tom’s ear. “ No cats in the palace, you fool! ” he said. “ They make the queen sneeze. ”

Ah-ah-ah-CHOO! ” The queen sneezed again. Honk! She blew her nose loudly.

“ Guards! ” shouted the king. He pointed to Tom. “ Seize this wizard at once! ”

The guards rushed toward Tom and grabbed him. “ I’m sorry, ” Tom tried to explain. “ I didn’t know the rule. I just—” “ Silence! ” Dirk cut Tom off.
