Tom walked along the path in the Dark Forest. The forest was spooky. “ Where is the palace?” thought Tom.

Tom saw a peddler. “ Do you know where the palace is?” asked Tom.

“ Yes, ” said the peddler. “ It’s where it always is, you fool! ” “ What a rude man, ” thought Tom.

Tom walked some more. But he still did not see the palace. He pulled out the map. Suddenly a cold wind blew.

“ Brr! ” Tom shivered. He reached into his sack. He found his mittens. But where was his fur hat?
